PROFESSOR
“I was born to teach, and I was born to write!”
~ Tammy L Brown
As an educator grounded in American history, African diaspora studies, and feminist theory, my intention is to make meaningful connections between the past and the present. I help my students better understand concepts like race, intersectional identity, and social justice. I encourage dialogue between students, faculty, and global communities through public programming. I also use technology in innovative ways to foster an environment of engaged intellectualism and collaborative learning; and help students become keen critical thinkers so the next generation will produce creative solutions to this world’s problems.
